Located at an altitude of 235 m, 15 km northeast of Aix-en-Provence, on the Alps Road (Exit 14 via the A51). Between the Luberon and the Sainte-Victoire, overlooking the Plain of the Durance, Meyrargues covers 4,167 hectares and has a population of 3,460 habitants.

The 10th-century castle is at the top of the village. Several lords ruled the village in succession. The village’s coat of arms appears to have been inspired by these three families (three fields): the estoile of eight points and gules for the Baux family (1024), six roundels argent for the Alagonias (1442), and the greyhound and azure for the Valbelles in 1642.
