Authentic village: in the heart of the Etoile Range, near Aix-en-Provence, Mimet invites you to walk in the woods and discover its wealth of archaeological sites.
Covering an area of 2 hectares, Oppidum de la Tête de l’Ost (4th century BC) is a Celto-Ligurian ruin 2,400 years old.

This fortified Iron Age village was a stronghold of the Salyens, a Celto-Ligurian tribe who occupied the Massilia hinterland. Aix (Aqua Sextiae) did not yet exist!
To reach the site, follow the path bordering the old village cemetery. The fortified village. The rocky crag is surrounded by ruins of 12th century ramparts.

The Church of the Transfiguration dates back to the 11th century. In the village, the Ice Tower (17th century) was run by an ice merchant.
